Redefining What it Means to Be an Emotional Woman

What does it mean to be an emotional woman? In my experience, it’s meant I’m too sensitive, or that I must be PMSing. I’ve been told that I make mountains out of molehills and even that I’m obsessed with drama.

Well I’m calling bullshit. I’m so tired of hearing the negative things people have to say about women who are in touch with their emotions. We are not unstable, we don’t like to bring drama into our relationships, we are not damaged and really, we aren’t all that complicated.

Okay, now that we’ve got that all sorted out, let’s talk about the real characteristics that come with being an emotional woman. Sound good?

If you have an emotional woman in your life, you should consider yourself lucky, because chances are, she cares for you very deeply.

Our hearts are big, and we have a lot of space to care for a lot of people. When you share your pains with us, we ache for you. If you’re celebrating a win, we’re probably crying tears of joy for you. And of course, when something frustrates you or makes you mad, we feel angry too.

If I’m unable to take that time away for myself, things can get a little crazy. Anxiety sets in, molehills become mountains, and people start asking me if I’m PMSing a lot.
