South Carolina Governor

Henry McMaster is the current South Carolina Governor. He is the one-hundred and seven-teenth governor of South Carolina. McMaster is affiliated with the Republican Party.

He is originally from the state’s capitol of Columbia. McMaster received his bachelor’s in history in 1969 from University of South Carolina. He then went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina School of Law 4 years later.

McMaster also shorty served in the United States Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1975. In 1986, McMaster ran for the Republican nominee in the U.S. Senate, but lost. He also lost his campaign for Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina in 1990.

He eventually won his campaign for Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina in 2014. McMaster was eventually elected governor in 2018 for a full four-year-term. Governor McMaster has been an advocate for less government spending in the state of South Carolina.

He also vetoed a bill that would raise gas prices in S.C. Since his time in office, McMaster has also been an advocate for gun rights and gun ownership rights. In his two years since being in office, Governor McMaster announced more than 30,000 new jobs for South Carolina.

McMaster also invested $8.2 billion in state investments. With his leadership, McMaster brought the state unemployment rate to an all-time low.
