The End of Trump? Fat Chance

Following the attempted overturn of an American election that has lasted months and climaxed with an attack on the capitol January 6th, many are saying Trump’s time is up. Spoiler alert: they’re wrong — again.

How many times will we predict the end of Trump before we realize it’s a futile exercise?

Trump makes fun of a disabled reporter? This is the end of Trump.

Trump makes no attempt to stop Russia’s interference in our elections? This is the end of Trump.

Trump calls neo-nazi’s very fine people? This is the end of Trump.

Trump tells proud boys to ‘stand by’? This is the end of Trump.

It’s impossible to list all the times left wing pundits predicted the end of Trump was near. I can’t even remember some of the scandals Trump has pulled that would have led to the shameful resignation of any other president.

The coup on Wednesday? Not the end of Trump. There is no end of Trump.

Every time we, reasonable people, see a crack in the republican machine — we get a surge of hope. The end is near. This time it’s different.

It never is.

I’ve seen countless comments, articles, speeches talking about the splitting of this right wing machine. ‘This time even Fox News has had enough,’ they say. As though they won’t turn around and defend Trumps actions as soon as they get their talking points delivered.

Don’t get your hopes up that this time is different just because it was a terrorist attack orchestrated by our president. Don’t look for republicans and conservative power players to save us — they never will.

Each time republicans pull away from Trump, they yo-yo back. The Republican party is Donald Trump, make no mistake. Years of misinformation and fear have orchestrated this.

Even when he breathes his final breath, Trump will remain. His presidency was no surprise, and it was no mistake. It was decades in the making. Since Ronald Regan painted the picture of a welfare queen living off what you made — this has been the plan.

Trump and Trump-ism are alive and well, and will be for generations. There is no one event that will save us. Nothing is outlandish enough for millions of supporters to turn their back on a man that has conned them. Nothing will make millions see the reality of their ways.

I’ve painted the bleak reality of the world we live in with no easy solution, but it doesn’t mean we should give up and continue down this road. We simply must stop waiting for those who created this monster to save us.

There isn’t an easy solution, but there is one: we need to educate people on the policies that hurt them and the policies that help them. We need to reach out to future generations, and those not lost in the sea of conspiracy and lies.

There are those who are lost causes — the Q-Anon’ers, the anti-semites — but there are those who simply do not know the policies they are supporting, and the ones the left supports.

We aren’t trying to steal your money with absurd tax rates, we aren’t trying to end big businesses, we aren’t trying to end religious freedom, we aren’t trying to abolish policing all togther. . .

Our message needs to be strong and clear — because the Republicans propaganda will muddle what we say.

We must show the people how we can make America better for everyone, and we must stand firmly against the right wing media machine that churns out propaganda. We must call this propaganda out at every turn and we must educate the youth to identify it as well.

Although we won’t see the end of Trump in our lifetimes, we may be able to ensure our grandkids do. We may be able to lessen the impact, and we may be able to watch the policies and ideologies of scared men fade into obscurity. . .
